The Hit Entertainment Era (also known as the New Series) was from Season 8-12. In my opinion, it was the 3rd best era, after the first and the Brenner Era.
SEASON 8
I like this season. I've seen a lot of people hating on it though. It has some amazing episodes, like Halloween, and amazing songs, like Ode to Gordon and even the Roll Call. That doesn't mean they wasn't let-downs as well. Some episodes were badly written. But overall, this season was good.
SEASON 9
An underrated season. It will never pass as better than the Classics, but that doesn't make it bad. It has some good introduced characters and some well-written episodes with good morals. It returns the narrow gauge engines too (albeit out of character, like Skarloey). Anyway, a decent season.
SEASON 10
A great season, with great episodes. As good as Gordon is a nice episode, and Navigation was a ok song, and Rosie, Freddie and Rocky were great characters introduced. And Skarloey's new dumb personality it another let-down. I get why a lot people don't like this season, but I think it's pretty decent.
SEASON 11
I don't hate this season, it's quite good, actually. I don't like the use of the narrow gauge engines in it though. Skarloey and Rheneas are still babies, but I really like some of the introduced characters, like Madge. They were a lot of let downs in this season, but hey, at least they used Donal' and Dougie.
SEASON 12
What the heck were they thinking?! Putting a CGI face on a model! Even though I hate this horrid season, It had some nice episodes, but other than that this season's really bad. And so many characters are out of characters.
